It’s NOT a Reunion!!

Standard

Sweetie tells me I should rent an apartment in Utah since I’ve been down here so often … I think that is an exaggeration though we’re here for the second time in 3 weeks.  I came down 3 weeks ago to stay with some of my grandchildren while their parents sought sun and a bit of calm and then I stayed 5 days longer to watch my oldest grandson’s ballroom high school team perform in the National Amateur Dance  competition at Brigham Young University (they came in second in their division).  Which was Totally Cool!

Tomorrow my sisters and I are having a lunch for ALL of our cousins, Aunts and Uncles!! We haven’t seen some of them for 35 years or more! It is NOT a reunion … just an opportunity to share what has been going on in each other’s lives.  I am totally psyched!

My grandfather, Wilford Franklin (“my name is Frank”) Penrod left us a wonderful gift of his Oral History! I have spent the past month pulling photographs from their albums and putting them together with a selection of his narratives of their early married life and put them into a video. Its title is  Frank & Flora Penrod: The Early Years.  Putting the video together and listening to my grandfather’s voice again brought me such joy and laughter when I saw myself in grandma’s photo albums. I hope my cousins feel the same joy and love tomorrow!
